Fundraisers/Events1. The Chocolate Affair:Sample sweet and savory treats from over 50 of Baltimore's best restaurants, caterers and chocolatiers; enjoy auctions, dancing, live music, spa treatments and more; all to benefit Health Care for the Homeless. Health Care for the Homeless, Inc. (HCH) provides health-related services, education, and advocacy to reduce the incidence and burdens of homelessness. In 2008, HCH served 12,000 people during 75,000 patient visit at clinic sites in Baltimore City and Frederick, as well as Baltimore, Harford and Montgomery Counties. 2. Baltimore Party in the Park: to benefit the Nikki Perlow Foundation. The Nikki Perlow Foundation wasestablished to celebrate the life of a beautiful young 21-year old woman, Nikki Perlow, who died of an accidental overdose. Her family and friends formed this foundation to honor her memory and provide financial, logistical and emotional support to those young adults, like Nikki. 3. The Women's Law Center Wine and Chocolate Event The Women's Law Center of Maryland (WLC), a non-profit organization, established in 1971, advocates for an equal playing field in the law for women and children. For more than a quarter of a century, the WLC has fought and won many battles to protect and preserve the rights of women--by educating the public and the judiciary on the effects of legal decisions affecting women, by monitoring compliance with the law, by seeking to change unjust laws and unjust lawmaking, and by implementing innovative programs to pave the way for systemic change. 4. The Baltimore Sun Auction for Centerstage: The Baltimore Sun Auction for CENTERSTAGE, an annual 16-hour radio broadcast on WBAL am 1090 will be heard on Sunday, February 28thbeginning at eight in the morning and continuing until midnight. This marks the 33rdyear for the broadcast which features live telephone bids from the listening public for over 600 items and services donated by area merchants. Since its inception, the auction has raised over $3.8 million for the theater and has been a major supporter of CENTERSTAGE's mission to bring quality productions to a wide and diverse audience. 5. The Boom Boom Room The Boom Boom Room is an invitation-only pre-Golden Globe Awards baby and big kid gifting lounge in Beverly Hills, CA for celebrities and media. This year's event benefits SERVICE. |
